  • Meaning:

  • Zoom in on Mufasa’s eyes; darkness takes over light as Scar throws him off the cliff, circle of life is disrupted 

  • Importance of eyes; windows to the soul, light moving into dark, loss of hope, peace is gone; contrast between Mufasa and Scar’s eyes, emotions, transfer of power; we transition out of Simba’s eyes, represents transfer of power as well 

  • Scar’s character design; dark bane, bony and elongated, narrowed and “evil” looking eyes, scar on his face represents something off, vicious smiling and teeth, low and grating voice, Disney evil green; embodies what he is supposed to be (evil)
